Chirrup in which a fictional Animal Assisted Therapy Centre was explored. It is a place that fosters and rehabilitates abandoned/stray animals into therapy animals.
As part of the branding, I created two characters (Sad Dog and Dr. Cat) with unique, individual personalities
and wrote a book following their time at Chirrup. To facilitate the production process, the entire space was built in 3D. After which, the models were adjusted before the scene was drawn in 2D. This process greatly reduced perspective errors and gave me (the illustrator) a better idea of the space and layout.

As part of making the brand assessable, care cards featuring Sad Dog and Dr. Cat were created. This was done with the thought that oftentimes the smallest gesture of gifting a card, can often bring much comfort and joy to recipients.
Even in a world of fiction, names have meaning and are a form of identity. They are especially important for our Chirrups animal staff members who have faced abandonment or were never granted that right. As such, special ID cards were created for them, showcasing their very important roles in the therapy and care team.
Afterword :

As an individual who loves animals, I had the utmost privilege of interning at an Art Studio that fosters and rehabilitates sick and feral cats. Some of those cats being street cats, have never experienced human kindness and are often extremely wary - thus acting feral as a means to protect themselves. Other cats the studio fosters are cases of abandonment, Especially after the pandemic, the studio and rescuers we worked with saw an increase in pet abandonment cases - one instance involved leaving the terrified and confused cat in a cardboard box in an elevator.

This is a project greatly inspired and fueled by my experience and what I bore witness to during that time.
It is aproduct of my love for all the animals I have encountered and cared for. Many of them have been adopted
out toloving homes and it is my hope that others will too be able to have that sort of intervention that is not limited
to animal shelters.
